Sedona is in the Verde Valley region of Arizona, situated in the Coconino National Forest. It’s roughly 25 miles outside of Flagstaff.
The entire area is known for its beautiful landscape, with red and orange rock formations. Photographers capture stunning skies and sunsets amid the surreal spikey rocks. Hiking, camping, and biking draw all manner of outdoor enthusiasts to the area. Cathedral Rock Trail is the most popular.
The climate is surprisingly temperate but hot. A semi-desert, a partly arid climate brings mild winters and hot summers. The average high summer temperature is 97 degrees. 19 inches of rain falls annually.
A smaller city, the population is approximately 10,000.
The tourism is split between nature-lovers and peace seeking spiritualists. VacationRenter named Sedona the #1 underrated tourist destination in 2019. The arts community thrives as well with tourist visitors shopping at Tlaquepaque Arts Village.
A spirituality is said to radiate from Sedona, powerful for healing and meditation, and even psychic experiences. Energy vortexes are described by many in the region, including Airport Mesa, Cathedral Rock and Boynton Canyon, purportedly each emanating its own unique energy.
